With one week away from the Web Innovators Group summer event, I wanted to share a feature that we’re adding to this session around facilitating introductions.
Many startups have approached me wanting a better way to reach out to potential employees (and potential co-founders) who attend the WebInno events. Likewise, individuals looking for new roles have communicated that they wished it was easier to find people from startups which have open positions. At the Web Innovators Group event next Monday July 9th, I hope that people from these two groups will have an easier time connecting – in order to do this, employers will have an opportunity to self-designate that they’re hiring by wearing a colored sticker on their name tags.
Anyone who represents a startup that is actively trying to fill (a) full-time, part-time, co-founder, or consulting role(s) is encouraged to wear a special colored sticker (which we’ll provide) communicating that they should be approached about it. With this scheme, job-seekers are more actively able to seek out available web and mobile startups roles (while still remaining discrete about their search, if necessary). And those looking to fill certain positions will be able to more effectively focus on conversations of that type.
Since this event is the first time we’re trying this activity, I welcome your feedback (email david at webinnovatorsgroup dot com) on tweaking this system both before and after the event. Regardless of how this structure evolves, we’ll continue to pursue ways to connect individuals seeking jobs/co-founders and employers looking for talent in the digital media space, based on the strong suggestions from you the WebInno community want it.
